This is drawing #3 in a series of three that I excavated from the masturbation sketchbook I kept in 1987/1989. I call this series “On The Job” because it has a vaguely blue collar vibe to it.
This is a drawing discovered in my sketchbook/journal dated 1992/12.12-1993/6.23. It is part of a group of drawings done while I was experimenting with seeing how much I could leave out, hence the series title “Minimal”.
I either drew this for my one man show at the One Way or for Secret Love #3. Notice that I did the artwork on a page of a newsletter for Black and White Men Together. It looks to have been done in gouache and
I’m pretty sure this was drawn with a Japanese
Fountain Brush, the kind where one has to squeeze the flexible plastic barrel
to get the ink to flow. In this case, the cartridge was almost empty of ink,
creating a dry-brush effect. I think I was drawing from a photo.
Nothing special here. Colored pencil sketch taken from
a photo found on the web. I sort of like the way the drawing echoes the shape
of the South American continent .
Another ballpoint pen
sketch, inspired by the previous day’s embossment. To see what I mean,
superimpose this drawing on that from October 3rd. Or take my word
for it.
Another
vaguely Picasso-esque drawing.
