White on Black #2, The Daily Derriere, April 28, 2017

This drawing was executed using PrismaColor pencils, medium gray and black Tombo Brush Pens, and a Presto Jumbo Correction Pen. It done last month as part of a series where I was experimenting with trying to achieve painterly effects using colored pencils. As with yesterday’s of an image created over a year ago, I was trying to depict white body hair on dark skin, a variation on the “silver fox” archetype.

Visit From the Handyman, The Daily Derriere, April 17, 2017

Here are two versions of the same subject, drawn 6 years apart, the Prismacolor pencil version in 1980, and the brush-and-ink version in 1986. In the first version I hadn’t yet graduated from art college; in the second, I’d been a working professional animation storyboard artist for three years. I spent quite a bit more time on the color drawing, but had much more drawing chops for the second. They both have their relative plusses and minuses.

This is a Prismacolor Pencil sketch of the Hulk’s boner. I used black and dark gray Tombo Brush pens to sharpen it up.

Enrique #6. The Daily Derriere, April 10, 2017

This is a Prismacolor Pencil sketch of my ex-lover Enrique, done from memory. I also used a medium gray Tombo Brush Pen for laying in the shadow areas, and judicious use of a Presto! Jumbo Correction Pen for the white areas. I was trying for a painterly effect; in such cases it’s useful to use paint. However, here, I didn’t want pure white (for the most part), so would draw back over it with Prismacolor.

“Squat 1981”, The Daily Derriere, March 19, 2017

I did this Prismacolor sketch in 1981,  in an 14” x 11” sketchbook. This is an erotic pose, if somewhat difficult to maintain. But necessary if one is being covert.

Minimal #8, The Daily Derriere, February 6, 2017

This is a drawing discovered in my sketchbook/journal dated 1992/12.12-1993/6.23. It is part of a group of drawings done while I was experimenting with seeing how much I could leave out, hence the series title “Minimal”. Unlike the others in the series, I drew this with Prismacolors, as opposed to the Tombo Brush pens of the previous 7. But it’s pretty minimal, so I’m including it with this series.

THE DAILY DERRIERE, JULY 27, 2016

This  is the page underneath the torn-paper page I posted on July 25, 2016. It’s what you would have seen part of if I hadn’t placed a sheet of white paper underneath the torn-paper page. Oh Hell, I’ll show you what it would have looked like. Here it is.
