Another archived sketch, done on the reverse side of Celebration Theatre stationery, inherited from my late spouse, John Callahan, though he was still alive at the time (1988/89).
I’m pretty sure that was drawn from my imagination, not from life. I saw that because this could, credibly, be a life drawing. But I don’t think I ever made it with a guy who looked like that.
Work in progress. Mostly ink on paper, with some slight additions in Photoshop.
See yesterday’s post; everything I said then applies to this drawing. Obviously, the two drawing are part of a set. 15 years later, I did larger versions of these same drawings, at 30″ x 40″, for a one-man show I had in a gallery in Amsterdam.
Heavenly Host. This drawing was done on a discarded copy of a storyboard page I did for DIC Enterprises back in the late 80’s. I can’t tell what the TV Series the storyboard page is from, though the residual “cut” written across every panel seems to be the hand writing of my director at the time, Kevin Altieri. And the translation into Japanese of the deleted panels leads me to guess that the TV series this board was done for was “Alf” or “AlfTails”.
This is painted on the reverse of a flyer for Golden Apple Comics that I gessoed (mixed with red paint). The drawing is in black Prismacolor, painted into with gouache. Since it’s been cropped to 8″ x 10″ I assume it was included in the “Recycled Erotica” exhibition.
I’d guess this drawing was done to be included in “Secret Love” 4. Since it survives at 8.5″ x 11″ I assume it didn’t get into the Recycled Erotica exhibition. It’s done on the back of a WAND/LA (Women’s Action For Nuclear Disarmament) flyer.
