THE DAILY DICK, NOVEMBER 12, 2013

I finished this at 11:00 PM,
November 12, 2013. It seemed too numerologically pertinent not to post.

I drew it with a regular old
Ticonderoga soft lead pencil, bought in bulk a couple years back. My favorite
pencil.

I like
this drawing a lot. It’s a balm, a relief, an antidote to my paying gig,
drawing all day long in someone else’s style. I don’t know what my style is.
I’m doing this daily blog to help me discover it.

THE DAILY DICK, OCTOBER 4. 2013

This was sketched in regular
Dixon Ticonderoga Soft pencil, then painted into with either water color or
gouache.

It was
drawn both from loving memory and from fantasy.

THE DAILY DICK, SEPTEMBER 4, 2013

SEPTEMBER 4, 2013

This is my 3rd drawing in
the Daily Dick series, sketched in the 2013 American Express Date Book gifted
me by my late spouse, John Callahan.

This drawing is in graphite;
pencil that is. Plain old pencil, with an eraser stuck onna end, the kind kids
use in class. Or they usta; God knows what the little whippersnappers use now.
Probably one o’ them thar computer thingies y’hear so much about these days.

Actually, I wasn’t using
just any old pencil-with-an-eraser-stuck-onna-end. I was using mah all time
favorite pencil, the Dixon Ticonderoga Soft. Beautiful creamy line, and the
erasers are actually good, better than the Pink Pearl these days.

This
drawing is done from a photo, clipped many years ago from one of them thar gay
skin magazines, back in the day when folks bought their porn on paper.
