Buttocks depicted in ink wash, with a trace of red acrylic paint on the left leg.
I was trying to abstract the ass to its simplest elements. I almost got there, but chickened out, adding to little diagonal lines at the top of the vertical.
Flaming Artist, Austin Texas, Buttocks; these are my keywords. Another is”American Express Appointment Book”, which I used to make this series of drawings in. This is the 2012 edition.
Two drawings for the price of one! The first is a sketch from a vintage early 80’s photograph, probably from Drummer or Mandate, done with a Tombo brush pen. The second is from my fevered imagination, drawn with a ball point pen.
Copied from an old photo, painted with watercolor and
gouache. This time around, the map of Africa is defaced.
Here, I take a completely different tack from yesterday’s blog drawing
, trying to
see how simple and abstract I can get while keeping the subject matter
readable. I drew with ball point pen. It would have worked well in cut paper.
Nothing to say about this drawing that I didn’t say
about yesterday’s drawing. Except, wow, I’ve been posting every day for a month.
I feel like the Amy Adams character in the “Julie and Jula” movie, where she
posted every day about cooking another one of Julia Child’s French Cooking
recipes. Except that I’m posting about penises.
