THE DAILY DICK, OCTOBER 30, 2013

This is yet another post-stroke sketch, done yet
earlier than yesterday’s. It is executed with ballpoint pen, worked back into
with Tombo brush pen. It is very crude, not just in the line work put also in
the thought process. I allowed the distortion/exaggeration in order to include
everything I wanted in the drawing. Actually, I kind of like it.

THE DAILY DICK, OCTOBER 27, 2103

This drawing was done with
plain old pencil. It was crude but the best I could do at the time. I had made
my first post-stroke attempts at drawing only 2 months prior and still hadn’t
gotten it together.

2
months ago I showed “The Daily Dick” sketchbook, and its companion volume,

“The Daily Derriere” to a friend. He was insistent  that I write my thoughts about each drawing (on the right
page of each two page folio spread) on the facing left folio page. I protested
that the writing was likely to be visible through the thin paper even if it
didn’t immediately bleed through the paper immediately (I have observed this
happening over a period of years in my older sketchbooks, which is why I
stopped drawing/writing on both sides of the pages about 10 years ago). This
drawing is a case in point. I only drew it on the opposite side of a diary page
because I didn’t take it seriously, didn’t expect it to be any good.

THE DAILY DICK, OCTOBER 4. 2013

This was sketched in regular
Dixon Ticonderoga Soft pencil, then painted into with either water color or
gouache.

It was
drawn both from loving memory and from fantasy.

Hitting the Love Button

I feel sorry for straight guys; they’ll usually never know what a source for pleasure the anus is, or let themselves be open to exploring it. I’m reminded of “Peacher”, a DC/Vertigo comic series published in the late 90’s, written by Garth Ennis, illustrated by Steve Dillon. Specifically the villian, Herr Starr: at one point in the story line, he is anally raped and realizes he likes it. Thereafter, he pays female prostitutes to fuck him with using dildos. I actually sort of liked the character after that. At least he allowed the reality of his own experiences to lead him to moving beyond his preconceptions without guilt or shame. Unfortunately, he was still a bad guy.
