Daily Derrierè: Bear Flies Fractal

It’s a coloring book page! It’s a poster! It’s wall paper! It’s a hat! It’s a broach! It’s a dessert topping! It’s a floor wax!

The Daily Derriere: “Bear Flies”

This is kind of fun. I’m designing a page for a future coloring book. I’m starting with the original ball point pen sketch, progressing to the re-draw in Photoshop. Since I did each figure on a separate layer, it amuses me to post each figure in isolation. I hope it amuses you as well.

The Daily Derriere; Splendour In The Grass

This is a work in progress. I present three stages: 1) The original drawing, done as a masturbation aid in Erotic Sketchbook A, in 1979. 2) The line drawing redraw, completed this morning. 3) My colored version, with which I am not satisfied, but I need to do my daily post.

SKETCHBOOK A DRAWINGS

These are drawings from one of my earliest surviving erotic sketch books. The sketchbook in question was filled in 1978/1979, when I was in my second year of college. These drawings were executed while I was still a virgin, before I had tactilely experienced another man’s body (especially, the bodies of the father figures that were my primary erotic obsession). Lacking first hand experience, I assumed men in their late 40’s, 50’s and early 60’s would have the bodies of men in their 20’s and 30s.

Later, when I started actually getting laid, I discovered this was inaccurate, but it didn’t dissuade me from my preference. Instead I became a connoisseur of drooping flesh, distended abdomens and penises that couldn’t get reliably erect.

To be honest, I find these drawings, done in my late teens, somewhat embarrassing. But Robert Crumb (one of my heroes) has posted his early artwork, so I figure I should as well.

“RED NECKS IN LOVE”

This is a drawing from one of my earliest surviving erotic sketchbooks, from 1979. I had just turned 20 years old around the time of this drawing. I was a closeted virgin. My primary objects of lust were men of my father’s age, red necks, working class. One of my first crushes was on Rod Steiger’s sheriff character in “In The Heat Of The Night”. The pair of guys in this drawing could have been extras in that movie.

Night Delivery

The title of this piece is “Night Delivery”. I wonder if the customer will tip.

Blow Job #2

I drew this while watching a dvd of the pilot episode of Twin Peaks, Season 1. There’s no connection with the David Lynch opus other than time proximity.

Blow Job #1: After Modigliani, The Daily Derriere August 24. 2018

Actually, the title, “Blow Job #1”, is something of a misnomer. I have done countless drawings of blow jobs over the decades. However, it is frequently difficult to come up with titles for them if there’s no gag, situation or story playing out. Now I am free to artwork countless depictions of fellatio without having to concoct a title. If one occurs, of course I will feel free to use it; this is all about freedom.

Recently, I’ve been getting into the artist Amadeo Modigliani. This drawing is slightly influenced by the elder maestro’s work, insofar as I’m trying to incorporate flatness and abstraction into my own. The blow-er’s frame-right arm is sort of a Modigliani kind of thing, tentatively speaking; I lack the confidence to go as flat-out abstract as Mr. M. The arcing curves of the blow-ee’s torso is pretty abstract as well, though too spacially dynamic for Modigliani’s oeuvre.

Life Drawing at the Tom of Finland Foundation

Here are some recent life drawings done earlier in the year at the Tom of Finland Foundation headquarters in Echo Park, Los Angeles, U.S.A.
