I was in my late 20’s when I drew this series. It was only in subsequent years that I gained broader experience with actual middle-aged bodies. Now, of course, I have one myself, and realize that, for the most part, my depictions were inaccurate. In this case, Luigi, who smoked, probably drank and did little if anything to stay in shape, would not have a body like this in his mid-40’s. Sorry to disillusion y’all, but that’s how it goes.

One of my youthful fantasies was to have sex with authority figures, as in bosses, landlords, policemen, politicians, etc. Thank God for unanswered prayers as the song goes; the occasions when I’ve gotten to act on these fantasies rarely turn out well, even if the sex itself is good (which it isn’t necessarily).
My apologies for the brief hiatus, but I had ankle surgery on March 3 and am only now recovered enough to sit at my computer with my right foot elevated.

The co-star is, once again, a slightly idealized self-portrait. The “Luigi” character smokes, which I used to find somewhat erotic. When my tricks did it, not me. I don’t smoke.
While prepping this series of archival illustrations, I got the idea for a new one, Or to be more precise, I drew this then realized it could fit into the “Down Low With Lou” series with minor alterations. Drawn with light blue Colorerase pencil and medium gray Tombo brush pen.
I painted this in my masturbation sketchbook using the technique learned in art college: dark mid-tones first, then work progressively lighter and darker, hitting the highlights and darkest darks last. I used opaque watercolor (goauche).
I painted this with opaque watercolors (gouache), Then drew the line work with india ink. The body hair was probably painted with thinned out gouache on top of the india ink.
